I haven’t raved about a restaurant for the longest time. In Japan, I have gotten used to delicious food wherever I go so good food has gotten to be the norm. However, Asawa and I recently had dinner at Bistro La Toture and found the food to be splendid. It is a small two story restaurant in Sumiyoshi that serves home-cooked French cuisine. The first floor consists of 4 counter seats where you can watch your dishes being cooked, and the a second floor which could have been taken right out of a quaint French home.
What is remarkable is that the staff only consists of the owner/chef, Tatsuya Yamaguchi and his wife, so you are guaranteed a personal service. It was certainly a unique restaurant to try. It was a bit far out of the way from where we usually go for food, but it is a worthy destination. If you are often in the Tenjin area, it is just a 5 minute bus ride to Sumiyoshi bus stop, where the restaurant is about 50 steps away to the south.
When we ate there, it was only Mr. Yamaguchi running the show, but this did not take away from the efficiency of the place at all. Then again, this type of dining is supposed to be slow. We had hoped he would be more talkative and cheerful. Rather he was quite serious. Perhaps a bit too busy to chat. Anyway, the food is supposed to be the star of the show and it certainly was.

A personal service is always the best service when it comes to restaurants. The owner does all his best to serve his clients at the highest level that is why a dinner in such a place can turn into a very special and pleasant event.
I just recently discovered your website and this is the first recipe I made. I am sorely disappointed with my results and dinner was uneatable. I am not sure what happened? Next time I will definitely try this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe with us. Keep posting like this way.
