The JAL Seahawk was an iconic landmark that was synonymous to Fukuoka City. If arriving by sea this along with the Fukuoka Tower would welcome you into the city. This did not spare it from the financial hardships of JAL which had to sell it to the Hilton Group to help bring it out of bankruptcy. This will take some getting used to for most residents of Fukuoka.
